Lake Tahoe, CA
Lake Tahoe is definitely a slice of heaven, with its mountainous panoramic views and clear, blue waters. The Lake has a surface elevation of 6,225 feet above sea level, and at 1,645 feet deep, Lake Tahoe just happens to be the second deepest lake in the US, right behind Crater Lake.
A couple days prior to our visit, we found a deal for kayaking on one of the deal sites (Google Deals, perhaps?). I think we had the kayaks for about four hours, and we weaved our way through boats, paddle boarders, and swimmers. We found a small beach area that was almost vacant and parked ourselves there for a while - I just enjoyed the sun while Taras swam off like a fish. The water and scenery was truly some of the most beautiful I've seen.
We wrapped up the afternoon with a picnic, followed by a drive around part of the lake's perimeter. It was a good day, for sure.
