Right after we returned home we wrote this quick post about being back and we briefly talked about our future.
Since that post, here's what's been going on with our lives:
- Taras started a new job a couple weeks ago. During the trip, Taras was inspired with a new idea of what his work life would look like going forward. We gave a big effort to push life in the direction we wanted it to go but, ultimately, we were reminded that God is the one in control and He has a better plan than we could even imagine. So when a great work opportunity came up, although it was different from our vision, Taras excitedly accepted the job. And, who knows, maybe later in life it will be the right time to try again!
- As for me, we came home excited for me to pursue my entrepreneurial interests. I've always wanted to own a shop of my own and we thought that maybe now is the time. But after being home, realistically talking about wanting a house and kids in the near future (if we are so blessed), it quickly became clear that a shop is more of a goal for my 35 year old self, if it's something I'm still passionate about when the time comes. I'm currently working part time at my old company in Boston and spending the rest of my days writing Tagabonds and my personal blog, all the things.
- We are still living with Taras's parents in Portsmouth. They are graciously letting us stay with them while we save money for a down payment on a house - a house that we expect we'll buy in the Portsmouth area, though some days our hearts pull us back toward Boston...

It's neat to see where you're at now. I sometimes feel like you're CURRENTLY out on the road, since that's mostly what we see here!
ReplyDeleteYeah, we're loving this whole back-blogging thing because it's a nice daily escape back to our trip! :)
