Silver Lake | Los Angeles, CA
The Silver Lake neighborhood was our first stop when we arrived in LA. I was excited to explore the area, known to be a trendy hub of restaurants and shops, with no shortage of hipster residents (to us, this is a good thing, as our favorite neighborhoods tend to be hipstery).
We spent a few hours walking down the neighborhood's main street, Sunset Boulevard, stopping in at a few shops and eateries along the way. Silver Lake is definitely cool: art on many storefronts and covering most of the trash dumpsters, and plenty of local residents with great personal style. It's a great neighborhood for people watching, for sure. Or for dog watching, if that's more your thing, because, apparently, everyone who lives in Silver Lake has a tiny dog (or so it seemed! seriously, I've never seen so many tiny dogs in one place!).
Where we ate and drank: lunch at foodlab, coffee stop at Intelligentsia Coffee, and a cupcake treat at Lark.
Where we browsed: Mohawk General, Reform School, and Bar Keeper, among others.
