Portland, OR | Part 1

 So, Portland!

We spent a few days in this cool city - it was one of the cities we were most looking forward to visiting and we wanted to be sure we had enough time to explore. What this means for you is that there will be a lot of posts about Portland :)

First up, the food.

There's probably not much I could tell you about the food scene that you don't already know: local, organic, food trucks, great chefs, and on and on. Here is what we ate and drank around town:

sweet hereafter for happy hour drinks
pok pok for their fish sauce wings and other deliciousness by a james beard award winning chef
salt & straw ice cream
food trucks at d street noshery
food trucks at mississippi marketplace
food trucks at SW 9th and Alder (loved, loved our bowl from the whole bowl)
my first taste of stumptown coffee, and first time inside an ace hotel
then over to clyde common, also in the ace hotel, for happy hour drinks and snacks
beer sampler from deschutes brewery
burger and fries from little big burger
donuts from voodoo doughnut
bbq at smokehouse 21
coffee pick-me-up at sterling coffee roasters
comfort food italian at piazza italia
and our final meal, an epic swedish brunch at broder

So, yeah, we ate our fair share.

One tip we have about the food trucks - some of the trucks seemed to be closed on Mondays and a few were closed on Tuesdays.

We were lucky to have Whitney from his & hers send us a list of their favorite spots around town, and Kate passed along a list of Anja's must-dos in Portland, and many instagram/facebook followers sent us over their tips as well. Thank you all for helping us make the most out of our time in Portland!
