Paris + St. Petersburg Sneak Peek

Hi, friends! We are home after a wonderful two weeks away.

Here's a little peek at our time in Paris and St. Petersburg. We won't be doing full blog posts on this trip quite yet, we still want to get through our six month road trip posts before we blog any of the new stuff!

A Look at Germany

Hi friends! Sorry for the extended absence. We had a wonderful week in Germany and decided to take another week off from blogging to catch up on life a bit.

I'm not going to post full details on our Germany trip until we get through our 2012 road trip posts (what can I say, I like things to be in order). But here are some photo highlights to hold you over!

Also, I wanted to let you know that there will be a change in our posting frequency. We had been posting almost every weekday, but for now we're going to do probably three posts a week. Thanks so much for understanding!

Be Back Soon

Hi, friends! We are off to Germany today! We don't plan to post while we're away, but we will update facebook and instagram whenever we come across free wifi (read: spurts of spamming... you've been warned).

It's been a little weird planning for an international trip after doing so much domestic traveling. We found ourselves doing a lot more prep work with researching what we want to see and where we want to eat (and, who are we kidding, where we're going to drink the local apfelwein and kölsch!), and making sure we're prepared with maps because, well, it'd be pretty pricey to rely on our trusty Google Maps app. It's been a couple years since we've been over to Europe so I'm excited to step a little outside of my comfort zone for a few days!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Hugs,
Amanda

Vancouver, BC, Canada | Part 2

See Part 1 here.

After exploring and snacking through Gastown, we wandered through downtown a bit then made our way over to Chinatown to finish up our night at Bao Bei (so good!).

The next morning, we biked around The Seawall, a scenic path along Vancouver's waterfront that's perfect for walking, biking, skating, etc. The Seawall is part of Stanley Park, which might be THE coolest city park, ever - there are trails, beaches, historical landmarks, golf, and so much more. We could have easily spent all day there!

Before we made our way back south to the US, we drove over to Granville Island to grab lunch and stroll around the market - the island was bustling with people perusing the shops, enjoying cocktails on the water, or just having a simple picnic in the grass.

Vancouver, BC, Canada | Part 1

Since Vancouver is so close to Seattle, we decided to hop over the border and do a little exploring. We ended up in town for only 24 hours, but we liked what we saw.

One of my friends who used to live in Vancouver sent a lot of suggestions our way, and it sounded like Gastown would be a fun place to start. Turns out, the Gastown Grand Prix was happening while we were there - the streets and restaurant patios were packed with spectators, which lent a very vibrant (albeit crowded) vibe to the neighborhood. We snacked our way through Chill Winston and The Diamond, both of which had really great cocktails and small plates. Then we wandered through the neighborhood while keeping our eyes on the the bikers swooshing by (they go so fast!).
