About Taras

I grew up St. Petersburg, Russia and moved with my family to the US (New Hampshire) when I was 14. I went to WPI in Worcester, MA for my Bachelors and Masters in Biomedical Engineering. After getting schooled, I stayed around Boston consulting and working for medical device companies, primarily in the field of Regulatory Affairs. I swam competitively in high school and college and stay involved with the WPI swim team as an assistant coach.  I am passionate about science and technology, and may have been called a "nerd" once or twice. I consider that a compliment!

Food might be one of my top loves, particularly breakfast - I'll take a poached egg over corn beef hash any time.  To help with all the eating, I recently became interested in triathlons.  I've participated in a couple sprint races and plan to do an Olympic tri sometime soon. I have dabbled in photography and I'm excited to use our travel time to grow my skills. Travel has always been important to me - hailing from Russia and spending two months of college in Switzerland has primed me for this adventure.
