When we left Joshua Tree we continued driving through desert roads until well after the sun disappeared. The sky was constantly changing as we drove through a somewhat frightening rain and lightening storm (the temperature dropped by 20 degrees!), only to be rewarded with a beautiful sunset and even a rainbow.
