Park City, UT (plus a video!)
As it often happened on the trip, we had to pick and choose where to go each day, which places/towns to skip all together, and which ones to quickly drive through. Amanda was super stoked to check out Park City, but we ended up having only a couple spare hours to check out the town.
Our first stop was at Utah Olympic Park on the way into town. I LOVE all things "Olympics", and yet, the Park was way cooler than either of us had expected! The museum has tons of memorabilia from the 2002 Winter Games, and Amanda especially liked all the crafted animals that were used in the Olympic ceremonies. We also got to watch ski jump practice in the middle of the summer - very cool! (Be sure to check out the video below.)
Downtown Park City was really cute. There were a lot of great shops: one in particular had tons of cool antique winter sports accessories, but we can't remember the name of the shop (oops!); Amanda fell in love with Olive & Tweed boutique; and we both liked the picks inside Prospect. The whole town had a very laid back vibe, with street art, cyclists (we saw a lot of bike trials), and skate boarders. There were a few art galleries too, but we didn't check any of them out.
Park City really has so much to offer and it's easy to see why it's such a popular hub during ski season!
