After exploring the rustic colonies, we took off on a 4-hour drive north to Minnesota. The drive proved to bring more beautiful farm land and open, sunny roads, for which I had to construct face-burn defenses (see photo below). If not for the bandana, the left side of my face would have looked like a lobster by the end of the day.
The scenery and local cow herds were so inspiring, that we ended up pulling over at least three times on this stretch to take photos and smell the grass.
